Orlando FL is the theme park capital of the United States and we’re just starting to get a ton of incredible conventions in our humble city as well. Due perhaps to the success of Disney’s Hollywood studios, Orlando is lucky enough to once again be the home of the biggest Star Wars convention in the entire galaxy, Star Wars Celebration VI. Here are some of the panel highlights for the big con taking place between August 23 – August 26th 2012. It should also be noted that we’ll be doing our best to provide coverage of the event, and are really keeping our fingers crossed that there will be a lot of Twi’Leks with nice lekkus.
With the addition of Battle.net and authenticators, one would think that the age of mass password hacks would be over, sadly they are not. With virtual gold that’s often times worth more than some actual real world currencies, hacking a World of Warcraft or Diablo account can be worth a lot of REAL money. For instance in China, the average person is currently making around 665 Yuans a month or $104 U.S. (source) . This would mean that the theft of $100,000 WOW gold could net a Blizzard account pirate a month’s pay in China (as the average exchange rate is $10 for 10,000 WOW gold). If no market existed, the hacking wouldn’t be half as bad as it is today

When we set out to create our very first official Nerd Appropriate community game night, we didn’t really know what to expect. In all honesty we were just looking for an excuse to meet some new players, hang out with friends, and shoot some virtual bad guys. We’re elated to say that our community game night went better than we could have ever anticipated. With dozens of players from all over the world signing up to have some fun, we were able to run five eight person squads for over four hours with new players filtering in and out!
I sacrifice everything, there’s galactic peace, but, what do I get out of it?
Nothing. But, then, then there’s control. Shepard essentially becomes, well, god-like.
Sure, the moral form dies, but, all that power? There’s something to gain from this….
No what your view is of the Extended Cut, June 26th marks the first time in video game history that the opinions of the community have been directly directly addressed in such an agressive fashion. Bioware is indeed listening.
If we’re understanding correctly the newest Mass Effect multiplayer operation will feature more banshees than ever before, as well as banshees on non-reaper maps. Just when you thought wave 11 couldn’t get any worse… extra banshees, more screeching, and even more shoulder massage of death.
Operation Silencer has been deemed a failure. Even though we here at NA killed a few thousand banshees on our own this weekend, we apparently didn't help as much as we needed to! I have to admit, when I first…
We’re back on a short week to talk Republique, TV deathwatch, Avengers, Minecraft, ME3: Operation Silencer, and Sniper Elite V2. We also continue our “summer game pile” series, and take your answers to our open thread about sidekicks in a post apocalyptic world. Beware the creepers.
With only a few days left in their Kickstarter campaign Republique by Camoflaj and Logan still needs our help to get funded. By now I’m sure you’ve heard, “crowd funding” is all the rage, but are people already growing tired (or too poor) to help out the growing number of industry underdogs?
The drop ship was in site and we had less than 30 seconds to get on board before our operation was a complete failure. Tasked with the elimination of Cerberus Phantoms, we met heavy resistance and were struggling to get out alive. After fighting for what seemed like forever (or 30 mins), our team frantically sprinted toward our lingering salvation. Seconds before extraction, our Salarain engineer Yummo Jundomo was ambushed by a cloaked phantom, genetically modified killing machines courtesy of Cerberus.
Like many of you I grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons. As a matter of fact, I called Saturday “cartoon day” until I was about seven years old. Back in the golden era of Saturday morning animated entertainment we had incredible (yet bizzaro) shows like Transformers, Thundercats, and the U.S.A. Cartoon Express. While programming like Star Wars: The Clone Wars still provides kids with a bit of “magic”, I fear that the days of utterly ridiculous 80s-style cartoons are long gone… Enjoy this April fools joke from the fine folks at IGN. For the record… I would watch the poop out of this show.
