The gang is back together again for the first regular podcast of the new Rated NA Century! We talk a little Hero Academy, Nintendo, New Xbox, Beyond: Two Souls, and Oxyana. We review Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, Adera (ft. Ali Hillis) and Oblivion. SPOILER ALERT: Bioshock Infinite spoiler talk (54:20 – 1:08:07). Finally, a great NAQOTW where you tell us what you love about where you are! Wish you were here!
Robot Entertainment returns the community love by deploying a FREE update, available now, that adds single-player challenges to try out new factions and strategies.
The folks at Splash Damage have shifted gears and just announced their latest title for the iOS, RAD Soldiers. We here at NA love us some asynchronous strategy games (Hero Academy) and can’t wait to see how RAD Soliders turns out. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think!
We’re back from PAX and have thus far avoided “the pox”. In this special episode we have a slew of reviews, previews, and tales of wonder and adventure from Boston.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, Hero Academy is the best asynchronous strategy game currently on the iOS. We were lucky enough to chat with Marcin Szymanski, lead programmer and designer of Hero Academy at this years PAX: East, and learned a little bit about the game we here at NA have grown to truly love.
Hero Academy is one of our favorite iOS games of all time, and it keeps getting better! We received a press release this morning from the mad-scientists at Robot Entertainment that confirmed what we predicted a few weeks ago,…
Good news for Hero Academy fans attending PAX: East next month, there may be something green and slobbery in your immediate future (or so we think). Do the creators of Orcs Must Die (now on sale BTW), have even more green mayhem headed our way? Our money is on YES.
On this special milestone podcast, we talk about what NA and your support mean to us. We discuss Borderlands 2, Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, Alan Wake American Nightmare, Hero Academy, SSX, Gotham City Impostors, and Matt’s Oscar move roundup and comic book picks. Finally, past interviewee’s and NA alum join in on our conversation about how today’s media will be viewed in 100 years. This podcast features music from chiptune artist, Leeni (leeni.bandcamp.com), as well as music from The Glitch Mob. Yesssss!
Hero Academy has become a bit of an obsession here at Nerd Appropriate HQ. Creators of Orcs Must Die, Robot Entertainment have managed to craft an incredibly fun and addicting asynchronous iOS strategy game. Like any great strategy game Hero Academy is simple to learn, but challenging to master. Game play is an epinephrine infused game of chess, mixed with the random nature of Magic the Gathering.
Double Fine proves the world still loves adventure games. We talk about Mass Effect 3 (naturally), and a Blizzard update. We give early KoA: Reckoning impressions, Matt brings his Oscar Deathmatch Challenge, and we review Hero Academy, Fear Agent TPB, a Conan comic, and look back at the SWTOR: The first 50 levels. Finally we talk about nerdy Valentine’s Day gifts. Special thanks to Magnus Palsson (aka SoulEye) for our featured track, “Pushing Onwards” from VVVVVV!
