As is usually the case, Thursday on the floor was a little less packed then the rest of the weekend. I used this opportunity to snap some pictures of the cosplay out and about (as well as some choice photos…
Do you see the smile on my face? Do you see that big-ass cheesy fucking grin? Spoiler: that’s me! That is the real me! That is a complete and whole Nat, not the “mask” I wear at work, not the sourpuss who sulks on BART, or who politely smiles and nods through her way through life because society dictates it is what I should do at my age and where I am in life.
Yes, I’m fully aware that this article is woefully late, but we’ve been BUSY. The weekend prior to this year’s PAX East I had the opportunity to check out one of Florida’s biggest conventions, the Orlando MegaCon. The number of cosplayers at MegaCon has increased exponentially over the years, and I have to say that this year’s show had more costumes than ever before. Even if you’re not a cosplayer yourself, you have to admire all the hard work and craftsmanship that goes into building some of the costumes you’ll see below. Here is quick look at some of the costumes of MegaCon 2013.
From Templar knights to creepy flesh eaters, this year boasted a crazy variety of costumes from all corners of the nerdiverse.
If you’re a “con carnie” like me, you’ve definitely seen Crystal Graziano’s amazing cosplay in action. Whether she’s dressed as Mourningstar for the game Firefall or sporting kick-ass female Commander Shepard armor, she rocks the cosplay scene as an absolute pro. Enjoy my recent chat with the very stunning costume extraordinaire, Crystal Graziano, as we talk costumes and brand ambassadorship.
Due to the sheer size of Comic-Con, some of the best cosplay on the planet can be seen within its hallowed walls. We figured we’d plop a little gallery here up on the site that highlights some of the coolest cosplay we got a chance to see this year.
Hey there gang, hope everyone is doing well on this fine Sunday morning. Today will be our last day of Comic-Con coverage and we wanted to thank you all for tolerating our barrage of Tweets over the past few days.
Last evening I made my way into the Unicorn theatre here at PAX (complete with Robot Unicorn attack music on.. loop) to relax a bit and check out Crabcat Industries costume non-contest.
Check out G4 giving Community’s Danny Pudi the show reigns as he wades into the Comic-Con 2011 cosplay crowd and has a few run-ins with Klingons, Sand People, Spartacus, Batman, and more.
A few folks sent this video my way and I felt compelled to share it. I really love when people pay homage to the game that everyone is still a bit shy to admit they play. A bit of a confession…I’ve been playing DnD off and on since I was in middle school, and still think it’s the best game a person can play with a close group of friends….
A wise old wizard once told me that it is quite rare to see a unicorn in the wild. We here at NerdAppropriate.com are incredibly pleased to bring you not a single unicorn, but an entire Team of Unicorns sent to dazzle and amaze. In case you were not aware Team Unicorn is a group of lady nerds based out of Los Angeles California. In recent years their You Tube videos (Geek and Gamer Girls, A Very Zombie Holiday, and Super Harmony) have gotten over 1 million views on You Tube alone. Much like Nerd Appropriate, Team Unicorn exists due to their love and passion for all things nerdy. Sit back, grab a mountain dew, and hear what these ladies have to say.
