Today was a huge day for all things Resident Evil! The demo for Resident Evil: Revelations hit the 3DS (to very some very positive buzz), the teaser for Resident Evil: Retribution dropped from Sony, and less than an hour ago a Gamestop employee leaked the release date of Resident Evil [...]
I’ve always been a collector. For over a decade it was comics and toys, followed by DVDs and other nonsense. While I’ve cut down on the number of items I currently collect (sorry comics and toys), I do on occasion fork up good money for something truly special.
The Nintendo 3DS may not be selling all that well… yet. These new Resident Evil: Revelation screens and trailer prove that there is a whole lot of horsepower under the hood of that little dust collecting Nintendo machine. Since its release 15 years ago there have been dozens of clones, over 20 Resident Evil titles (including mobile games), and more games featuring zombies than I can count. What makes Resident Evil special? Great Heroes, amazing villains, evil corporations, kung fu, and colossal boss fights
A reboot can be done for a wide variety of reasons, but I would venture to say that they primarily occur when the storyline of a series becomes too muddled or convoluted to attract a new audience.
