We just wanted to write you all a quick message and thanks for joining us this year here at NerdAppropriate.com! 2011 was an incredible year for all things nerdy and we had an absolute blast talking games, movies, and nerd culture with those of you that were brave enough to check out our content. While things have been in a bit of a “transition” here at the site, we’re not going anywhere! 2012 will feature all new interviews, convention reports, podcasts, and toilet humor, so fear not!
Join us in our year end wrap up as we bring you stats on SWTORs opening week, the Ocean Marketing debacle, and reviews of Super Mario 3D, Alcatraz (pilot), Young Adult, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, and Saints Row: The Third. Finally, we talk about our favorite movies, games, comics, etc of 2011 along with your twitter responses. Blam!
While Revelations was good fun, it left me with questions, and much to be desired. Here are five suggestions to make AC3 a solid reinvention.
Young Adult is a bit under the radar. It still holds that indie feel regardless of what the budget may have been. It is directed by the brilliant Jason Reitman, written by Diablo Cody and lists Charlize Theron, Patton Oswalt and Patrick Wilson among it’s main stars. So why did it still feel a little off for me? Read more to find out.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is upon us, and it arrived this afternoon in a Death Star sized crate filled will nerdy Star Wars treats! While other unboxing videos are currently making their way around the internet, few are filled with the shaky-cam cinematography of a young Michael Bay. Behold our SWTOR: Collector’s edition unboxing video!
No, you didn't read the by line wrong, this is Matt here reporting on a 3DS game. You may say to yourself, but Matt, on many, many podcasts you have said you would probably never own a portable system again.…
Matt returns to spread Black Friday cheer. We talk about rumored Gears projects, Netflix, and shopping madness. We review the latest installments of Kirby, Assassins Creed, and Elder Scrolls. Ash reviews a Return of the Living Dead Documentary, and it’s finally time to talk SWTOR. Finally.
Last night something strange happened, I acquired each and every Skyrim achievement currently available for the X-Box 360. Now, I’m not normally the achievement hunter type, but with a game as OPEN as Skyrim I found the achievements to be an excellent compass in the night… so to speak. After hundreds of hours of gameplay, a few sleepless nights, and some bedsores, I figured I’d share some of the things I did right as well as some of the things I did terribly terribly wrong… enjoy.
So, ahhh… about that dashboard update. What gives, man? I feel like someone has gone into my room and reorganized everything. And it’s not like that person did a poor job of reorganizing, but the way I had it set up before wasn’t too bad either. What are your instant impressions about the latest update to the Xbox 360?
Whats new in the worlds of SWTOR and Mass Effect? Gearbox is good people, and we update our fall TV predictions. Reviews of Skyrim, Rayman Origins, Uncharted 3, and Battlefield 3. Finally, we try to convince “D the P” to play SWTOR in our open thread. Featuring Cossby Sweater’s “Comedians”, nice! (http://cossbysweater.bandcamp.com/)
The robed monk wondered what my characters future would be now that I have become one of the most powerful individuals in Skyrim. Would I be remembered as a hero, or something far far worse…. great question.
There is something afoot, we just don’t know quite what it is yet. Recent comments made by EA/Bioware seem to confirm that there are something “mass”ive coming our way in the form of a new Bioware flavored social experience.
