Why exactly was Todd in "Slime World"... we will never know
Over the years I’ve had my share of portable systems. When I was a wee lad, hand-held games were my absolute favorite. Maybe it was because I could play anywhere without my parents bugging me, I have no idea, I just loved the damn things. I remember spending an entire summer glued to my Atari LYNX playing amazing games like Todd’s Adventures in Slime World and Rampage. However, as I got older portable games got worse. I still own a dust covered PSP and I borrow my wife’s DS on occasion, but portable gaming is pretty much dead to me. Most of the time, the games feel rushed and underdeveloped, and who really wants to hold a tiny screen all day?
Imagine my dismay when i discovered that there are not one, but TWO Resident Evil games in development for Nintendo’s new “3D” handheld, the 3DS. After looking at footage of these games in action, I’m sold. Are you?
I was sitting in a dark cubicle in 2003 when I received a mysterious phone call. The voice on the other end of the line was shrill, slightly raspy and spoke with frantic urgency. “What faction are we playing when World of Warcraft comes out man, I can’t decide what do!?” After spending countless hours reading forums I called the mysterious stranger back and uttered a single phrase, “For the Horde!” (Click for more)
The year was 1994 and I was sitting at my computer covered in Dorito crumbs and shattered dreams. After hours of playing XCOM, my entire squad of super soldiers had met their end due to a simple mis-click. Since death in XCOM was permanent, it was time to reload and try again… and again. XCOM: UFO Defense was one of my favorite strategy titles of all time, despite it’s brutal difficulty. For nearly twenty years I’ve been waiting for a proper sequel, and I’m very happy to say that XCOM: Enemy Unknown is that title.

WOW!!! I need that game! I’m a sucker for anything Resident Evil, that looks really cool. Does that mean I have to get the new 3D DS? Or will it be playable on my current DSi??? Damned if I have to get a new DS.

The 3DS will be a whole new system by Nintendo. It will be the first system that allows “3D” without actually having to wear bulky glasses. It will be expensive…
