Zombies have always been a big part of my life. My first exposure to zombies came at a very young age when George Romero was filming Day of the Dead on Sanibel Island. Actors in full Savini makeup showed up at my elementary school to pick up their kids and as soon as I saw their beautiful disfigured faces, I was hooked.
I was incredibly excited to check out Telltale's Walking Dead panel at this year's Comic-Con because season two of the hit game is shambling our way this fall. Sadly, the folks at Telltale Games weren't willing to reveal all that…
Tomorrow, Telltale unleashes the season finale of The Walking Dead, and things are looking grim. If you haven’t had the opportunity to check out The Walking Dead, you’re missing one of the most innovative and terrifying games in recent years. On more than one occasion I found myself shouting at the screen while I struggled to hang onto my damp controller. The tension is palpable and constant, and like the comic book and television series, no one is safe. No one.
Every once in a while a title comes along that changes the way games are made, played, and regarded. Telltale’s Walking Dead takes the adventure game genre and smashes it into a billion messy gore-drenched pieces. By the time you walk away from Episode 3, you’ll never look at adventure games the same again.
By now you’ve heard, the dead are coming back to life and feasting on the warm juicy flesh of the living! … on the PC and Mac. Ever since Robert Kirkman first gifted us with his apocalyptic zombie talk that “never ends”, we’ve been very vocal about our love for the Walking Dead.
So you have a nerdy circle one(husband, boyfriend, wife, girlfriend, friend, crush, sibling, child) and you want to get them into comics. Well that is how comics work best, much like the crack dealer on the corner (we all have one right?) you get them started on a freebie and before you know it they will be making weekly trips to the comic shop of choice and picking up their scrips (its what the cool kids call a subscription) and reading joyously all night.
