As a total Gears fanboy it was a little surreal sitting next to Dominic Santiago (Carlos Ferro), COG Gear (Isaiah “old spice guy” Mustafah) and the “Cole Train” himself (Lester Speight) when their names were announced to a capacity crowd. Also in our row was the ever-nerdy Morgan Web, L337Lauren, and a more.
Casey Hudson just let the cat out of the bag. The Mass Effect movie (which was in development limbo) will indeed be represented at this year’s Comic Con in San Diego. The problem, it appears as though the panel will more than likely take place in the dreaded Hall-H. In recent years Hall-H has become nearly impossible to step foot in due to die-hard fans (Twilight/etc) camping out overnight in order to see their favorite stars. Here is what we know so far.
There is some good news for Voltron fans everywhere! Like a global pandemic, re-launch fever is sweeping the land and Voltron has not escaped its reach. Some remakes will be good, and others will take your childhood memories and poop all over them like a Vietnamese pungi-stick. We just learned that everyone’s favorite transforming-robot-lions will have their very own San Diego Comic Con panel hosted by none other than Carrie Keagan.
According to Comic Con’s official Twitter feed, all 2011 4 day passes are all gone. As little as 3 years ago, one was be able to buy a 4 day pass in May or even June, my how things have changed. My wife and I got in line at last year’s Comic Con to buy passes for 2011, and preview night was already sold out. I’m anticipating the line for 2012 Comic Con tickets will be very very long… bring a bucket.
Comic Con 2011 tickets go on sale this Saturday Feb 5th at 9:00am PST. Get your six shooters ready because that’s high noon (EST) for us East coasters.
