“…Along with the mind-blowing cinematography, fun on-the-edge-of-your-seat scenes and interesting characters, there is a pretty gnarly part which provoked me to leave the theatre for a minute to get some fresh air. Yep. I almost passed out. I can handle horror movies and icky violence, but this particular scene struck a phobia chord. However, even with the onset of sweaty lightheadedness, I still think the scene was done well. When I looked at the faces of people around me, I could tell they were stunned, jaws clenched and brows furrowed. A few had even covered their eyes…”
Zack Snyder has made a wise decision to put Diane Lane in as Marta Kent, the mother of Metropolis’ hero Clark Kent AKA Superman. According to Snyder, from the release, “This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination.”
I personally am a fan and totally good with this choice. Between Henry Cavill and now Diane Lane being cast, Christopher Nolan producing, David Goyer Writing and Zack Snyder at the helm, we may very well have a worthwhile movie. Now the same could have been said about Superman Returns, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
