We've been following the musical adventures of Allison "Cossby Sweater" Goertz ever since she first regaled us with her super-catchy D&D anthem Tonight. With songs about everything from dungeon crawling to tragically cancelled Judd Apatow projects, Allison seems to fully understand…
Live DnD with Penny Arcade and the prince of PAX?
People still think the game is just for “nerds” and social misfits. I would argue that D&D is for anyone that likes adventure, laughing with friends, and imagination. The people I play with are teachers, pilots, doctors, chefs and animal trainers. No matter who you are or where you are in life Dungeons and Dragons will always be around for you to roll some dice and have a damn good time. Allie Goertz pretty much sums up how we all feel about the mother of all RPGs… A great place to just get away… She, as well as this video, are about to blow up… you’ll see.
A few folks sent this video my way and I felt compelled to share it. I really love when people pay homage to the game that everyone is still a bit shy to admit they play. A bit of a confession…I’ve been playing DnD off and on since I was in middle school, and still think it’s the best game a person can play with a close group of friends….
Most of you by now have seen Judd Apatow’s masterpiece Freaks and Geeks. For those that haven’t, Freaks and Geeks was a shamefully short-lived comedy/drama that originally aired on NBC in 1999. Due to some poor ratings, only 18 episodes were ever produced. Freaks and Geeks was a show about “the other” people in high school.
